What to expect - Generation Youth Circus

First of all… the warm-up!
We begin every class with 10–15 minutes of fun games and challenges to warm up body and mind. These are the kinds of games circus artists love — building confidence, teamwork and focus while having a lot of fun.

Aerial and Ground Skills
We teach aerial every week, rotating between Static trapeze, Rope and Silks

Children build confidence on all three over time, learning how to move safely and creatively at their own pace.
We also regularly bring out ground-based equipment — juggling, hula hoop, balance work and partner acrobatics. Some sessions focus more on aerial, others allow more time to explore ground skills.
No one is pushed to do anything they don’t want to do. We encourage but never pressure.
Progress looks different for every child, and that’s completely normal.

A Calm, Inclusive Space
Our classes are friendly, non-competitive and supportive. Children are encouraged to cheer each other on and celebrate each other's achievement.
Everyone progresses at their own pace. We’re proud that children tell us they feel calm, included and comfortable here.

Performance Opportunities
Children may perform — if they would like to.
At the end of term we often invite family and friends to a small showcase, and there are sometimes opportunities to take part in local events and parades.
Some members train with professional ambitions. Others come simply for fun, confidence and friendship. All are welcome.

A Few Other Things to Know

  • You’ll probably go upside-down!

  • Aerial takes time — patience and persistence matter.

  • We revisit basics regularly — that’s how strength and confidence grow.

  • There are occasional workshops and special opportunities with visiting artists.
